Description

Your friends walk in, look around, and always ask the same question: "where's that lamp from?" This Design Mushroom Lamp is an affordable reissue of a 1965 Italian design icon — that wide, pleated silhouette you've seen a hundred times on Pinterest without ever quite putting a name to it.

The original changes hands for between €600 and €1,500. This one starts at a fraction of that, in 3 sizes and 6 colours, with the same sculptural presence and the same warm, diffused light.

Why choose this Mushroom Lamp?

A decorative piece at this price always raises the same doubts. Here are the answers, straight out.

  • 🍄 A silhouette people recognise: The flared pleated shade isn't a decorative detail, it's what tips a room from "fine" to "considered". Sitting on a sideboard or in a hallway, it becomes the visual anchor of the whole room — the role normally played by an €800 piece of furniture.
  • 💡 Warm light, never harsh: The white opal methacrylate diffuser breaks up the beam instead of sending it straight into your eyes. You get an enveloping glow for the end of an evening, not the flat white glare of a budget desk lamp.
  • 📏 Three sizes, three uses: The Mini (Ø 27 cm) for a desk or bedside table. The Medium (Ø 40 cm, adjustable height) for a sideboard, console or dresser. The Large (Ø 55 cm, adjustable height) for a hallway or a corner of the living room, as the centrepiece. Each size is priced individually — Mini, Medium and Large. Choose the spot first and the size will follow.
  • 🎨 Six colours, four of which change everything: White and Black to stay in the original graphic register. Brown and Agave Green for warm, textured interiors. Brass and Bronze for a more precious, metallic finish that catches the evening light.
  • 💶 −50% across all 3 sizes — and here's why: There's no catch. This is a reissue, not the licensed original: you aren't paying for the name or for a design house's distribution margin. The design is democratised — which was, after all, the original intention.
  • 📦 Free delivery and 30-day returns: Shipped from our own stock, tracking provided, and English-speaking customer service. If the size doesn't suit your room, send it back within 30 days — which is what makes the choice risk-free when you're buying something you've never seen in person.

Our Tips for Choosing the Right One

Choose the size by the furniture, not by the room. On a bedside table or a desk, the Mini is more than enough — the Medium would feel overbearing. On a sideboard of 120 to 180 cm, it's the Medium that holds the scale. The Large needs real breathing space: a hallway, a corner of the living room, a deep console. On a surface under 1.20 m it overwhelms everything around it.

Choose the colour by contrast, not by matching. On dark furniture, White and Brass stand out. On light or blond wood furniture, Black, Bronze and Agave Green give you the visual anchor. A sculptural lamp shows best when it stands alone: leave it 30 to 40 cm of empty space all round, and avoid placing two identical ones in the same room — that cancels out the "one-off piece" effect you're after.

Care tip: dust the pleated shade with a feather duster or a dry microfibre cloth, following the direction of the pleats. Don't use household cleaner or a damp cloth on the diffuser. On the Brass and Bronze finishes, a soft dry cloth is enough — avoid any abrasive product.

Dimensions & materials

Mini: Ø 27 cm · height 35 cm · 2.2 kg · fixed stem.
Medium: Ø 40 cm · adjustable height 50–62 cm · 5 kg · telescopic stem.
Large: Ø 55 cm · adjustable height 70–86 cm · 8.8 kg · telescopic stem.

White opal methacrylate diffuser, painted aluminium frame, chromed stainless steel telescopic stem. Six colourways: White, Black, Brown, Agave Green, Brass, Bronze.

Where to put it

Choose the size by the furniture, not by the room: the Mini on a desk or bedside table, the Medium on a sideboard of 120 to 180 cm, the Large in a hallway or an open corner of the living room.

Leave it 30 to 40 cm of clear space all around: a sculptural piece shows best on its own. Against dark furniture, White and Brass stand out; on light wood, Black, Bronze and Agave Green give you the anchor point.

“Is it the original or a reissue?”

A reissue, and we make no secret of it. The 1965 original changes hands for between €600 and €1,500: at that price you're paying for the name and a design house's margin. Here you're paying for the silhouette, the pleated shade and the diffuse light — from €59.90. Design democratised, which was rather the original intention.

“−50% — where's the catch?”

There isn't one, and the reason is simple: this isn't the licensed original. So there's no brand royalty and no distributor's margin to cover in the price. You're paying for the object, not the signature.

“What if the size doesn't work in my room?”

That's the real risk when you buy something you've never seen in person. You have 30 days to send it back, and delivery is free on the way out. If you're torn between two sizes, start from the width of the furniture: on a surface under 1.20 m, the Large overwhelms everything around it.

Shipping

Your orders are picked within 1 to 2 working days. A tracking link is emailed to you as soon as it ships. The lamp travels in rigid packaging that protects the shade and the stem.

Returns & exchanges

You have 30 days to return or exchange the lamp unused, in its original packaging. If the size doesn't suit your room, an exchange is possible on the same terms.

Guarantee

Sunnyard guarantee: if you find a manufacturing fault on arrival, contact us within 30 days — we'll find a solution (exchange or refund depending on the case).

The piece people notice before the sofa

The flared pleated shade isn't decoration: it's what tips a room from “fine” to “considered”. Sitting on a sideboard, it plays the visual anchor a piece of furniture costing €800 would normally play. It's also what prompts the question every guest asks — “where's that lamp from?”

A light you can look at

The white opal methacrylate diffuser breaks up the beam instead of sending it straight into your eyes. What you get is a warm, enveloping glow — enough to read by late in the evening, not the flat white light of a budget desk lamp.

Choose the size by the furniture, not by the room

The Large (Ø 55 cm) needs proper clearance: a hallway, a deep console, a corner of the living room. The Medium (Ø 40 cm) suits the scale of a 120 to 180 cm sideboard. The Mini (Ø 27 cm) is enough on a desk or bedside table, where the Medium would feel overbearing. Choose the spot first — the size follows.

I'd been after this silhouette for months without knowing what it was called. The original is €900; this one has exactly the same effect in my living room.

The light really does wrap around you. The opal diffuser breaks up the beam, so it never shines in your eyes.

  • Marie L. 2 weeks ago

I got the Medium for the sideboard. The adjustable height lets you get the proportions just right, which I wasn't expecting at this price.

  • Thomas B. 3 weeks ago

Three friends asked me for the link in the first week. It's the piece you notice as you walk in.

  • Sophie L. 3 weeks ago

A really lovely lamp. The Mini is smaller than I'd imagined — check the dimensions carefully before choosing your size.

  • Nicolas P. 1 month ago

The pleating is crisp and even. I was worried it would look like cheap plastic — it doesn't.

  • Aurélie B. 1 month ago

The Large in the hallway is spectacular. It gives the whole room an anchor.

  • Élodie C. 5 days ago

The cream colourway is exactly as pictured. It goes with everything.

  • Laurent G. 4 days ago

Beautifully packaged, cushioned in foam. Nothing broken despite the size.

  • Manon D. 10 days ago

The Mini on the bedside table gives just the right light to read by without waking the other person.

  • Romain B. 6 weeks ago

I was torn between this and a €300 reissue I'd seen elsewhere. No regrets — it has just as much presence.

  • Inès N. 2 weeks ago

The glow late in the evening is exactly what I was after. We turn the ceiling light off and never switch it back on.

  • Pierre C. 3 weeks ago

A beautiful object. One star off because the bulb isn't included — a small thing, but worth knowing.

  • Marine F. 12 days ago

Stable — the base has real weight to it. It doesn't topple if you brush past it.

  • Yanis B. 3 days ago

Bought for the study, it ended up in the living room. It deserved better than a corner of a desk.

  • Sophie D. 2 months ago

Second order — another size in another colourway. They work beautifully together.
